Guitar Hero World Tour Contest (E for All 2008) By Richard S. Stites Editor-in-Chief Heroes of Gaming Published: 10/03/08 PrintEmail
Target has been gracious enough to host the Guitar Hero World Tour Challenge at the 2008 E for All expo. This gave press and attendees an opportunity to see GHWT in action, and gave many a chance to play it before just about anybody else. Even better everybody has a chance to win over $2,000 in cash, Target GiftCarrds and merchandise.
I can’t put it any better than Mark Schindele, SVP, Target who said “In the spirit of E for All, Target will be giving consumers an early look at Activision’s highly-anticipated Guitar Hero World Tour videogame before it hits store shelves on October 26”.
The first day of the even which will last the entire weekend at E for All was full of aspiring musicians and gamers alike. Dozens of new tracks were blaring. Contestants had their redesigned guitar controller, their drums, and mikes in hand, and set out on a long weekend of competition for the many prizes offered by Target.
For the uninitiated GHWT is a cooperative “battle of the bands” title that will be available for the current generation of video game consoles. Previous Guitar Hero games have rightfully topped the charts, and have proven to be a blast for gamers and non-gamers alike.
Most notably GHWT will feature online competition between bands, and will also have an in-game music creator. Expect this one to be on just about everybody’s Christmas (or Hanukkah) lists this year.
I want to wish a heartfelt “good luck” to all the contestants, and I’m sure you all are wreathing in jealousy because they get to play it before you.
